Clarice Stock, age 84 of Appleton, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at her home.
Visitation for Clarice Stock will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton, MN. Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 30th from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor John Ramsbacher officiating. Burial will follow in the Appleton City Cemetery.
Clarice Ann (Hamann) Stock was born on November 7, 1934, on her parents’ farm in Tara Township, Swift County, Minnesota, to parents William and Elfrieda (Schliep) Hamann. She was baptized on December 9, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township, MN. She was confirmed on March 21, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township by Pastor Paul Gierke.
Clarice attended country school grades 1-7 at District 99, rural Holloway, MN. She attended 8th grade at District 42 Parochial School near Immanuel Lutheran Church when her parents bought a farm in Shible Township. Clarice attended Appleton High School, Appleton, MN, for grades 9-12 and graduated May 29, 1952. On December 28, 1952, Clarice married her high school sweetheart, Virgil Ray Stock at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township, by Reverend G.E. Walter. This union was blessed with over 64 years of marriage and six children: Douglas, Micheal, Jeffrey, Debra, Lori, and Paul.
Clarice is survived by her six children: Douglas (Karna) Stock of Mankato, MN, Micheal Stock of Appleton, MN, Jeffrey (Beverly) Stock of North Mankato, MN, Debra (Todd) Sandberg of Ortonville, MN, Lori (Ted) Ziemann of Appleton, MN, Paul (Cindy) Stock of North Mankato, MN; 18 grandchildren; 17 Great-grandchildren; sisters: Lorraine Meichsner of Morris, MN, and Angela Hoffman of Wheaton, MN; Sisters-in-laws: Carol Hamman of Appleton, MN, Phyllis Harste of Morris, MN, LaDonna Stock of Granite Falls, MN; special friends: Marv and Kay Koosman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil; her parents William and Elfrieda Hamann; brother, Dale Hamann; and grandson Jordan Stock.
