Minnesotans know Grant County as the county without a single traffic light. That changed last week when MnDOT installed a temporary traffic light on Highway 59, five miles north of Elbow Lake. According to the Grant County Herald, it was installed to control traffic on a quarter mile section of road that was under water. Traffic was directed to the west lane only, as vehicles took turns negotiating the stretch, until both lanes were opened last Friday afternoon.
