A significant winter storm will move across the region late Wednesday into early Friday, bringing heavy snow, a wintry mix, rain, and strong winds. Emergency management has decided to cancel sounding the sirens for the two tornado drills originally planned for Thursday in the Morris area. Officials continue to encourage everyone to locate their severe weather safe location at school, work and at home.
This includes the emergency alert system as well (Everbridge for Big Stone County and CodeRed for Stevens County), which will not be used for testing tomorrow. They may need to use the alert systems for potential emergency blizzard travel notices.
