CenturyLink changed locate contractors on April 1. The company announced that the new contractor has faced unanticipated staffing issues and an inability to identify adequate alternative resources to complete locates. Therefore they are running behind.
To immediately address this concern, CenturyLink will repurpose a large number of internal technicians to augment their contracted locate workforce. These additional technicians began locating this week and will continue next week. They will assist ongoing as needed to ensure the company is meeting statutory requirements for locate responses. In a statement, company officials expect significant strides toward achieving norms by the end of April.
