As the Morris School Board approved an agreement with its bus drivers through fiscal year 2020 at their regular meeting this week, Board Member Doug Stahman praised the drivers and the arrangement the district has with them.
The School Board took action on a number of other motions. It approved the superintendent contract with Troy Ferguson for fiscal years 2019 – 2022. It approved the school calendar adjustment for this academic year that was recently allowed by the State Legislature, the so-called “Snow Days Forgiveness” legislation that was signed into law. It renewed the health insurance contract for the teachers, as well as a different health insurance provider for district workers. They also approved Wednesday, May 22 as the last day of school for seniors, except for those who still have work to complete. And they also awarded a $71,000 asbestos removal bid at the high school to MAAC, Inc. out of Montevideo.
