(Lost Days-Lahn) 4/26
A record number of lost class days due to snow storms won’t extend the school year at the Morris Area District.
At this week’s regular meeting, the School Board passed a resolution excusing 8 days of classes without making them up. Superintendent Rick Lahn says forgiveness legislation at the state legislature really helped, “especially with the construction project this year the fact it has to start immediately we really didn’t have a lot of options for extending the school year. And so that peice of legislation really really helped us this year. we’re very happy they were able to do that.”
Lahn adds they were able to make up 5 days with e-Learning days and that a total of 23 days were impacted by the weather this year.
The board also approved the last day of classes for seniors will be May 22.
