MORRIS – The UMN Morris baseball team (8-24) closed out its 2019 season with a seven-inning 17-3 loss to Carleton (13-21) in a non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon. Originally scheduled for two seven-inning contests, the Cougars and Knights changed the schedule to play one nine-inning game.

The Cougars got on the board with a pair of runs in the home half of the fourth. For the Cougars in the fourth, Logan Graves singled to right center to score Nash Kramer and then during the next at-bat, Levi Jahnke scored on a fielder’s choice.
Then in the fifth, senior Blaise Fairbanks homered to right field in his final game at Cougar Diamond.
Carleton went on to score a run in the sixth and five runs in the seventh to secure the 17-3 victory.
Prior to the game, Minnesota Morris honored its five-member senior class (Thomas Eckstein, Blaise Fairbanks, Kyle Hastings, Levi Jahnke and Nash Kramer).
