American Legion Auxiliary National President Kathy Dungan visited the local American Legion post in Morris yesterday. She also visited vets at the VA Hospital in Fergus Falls. Dungan spoke with KMRS about her focus as president this year, which is female veterans and their unique concerns.

She said the greatest challenge is attracting new members and encouraged service-oriented community members to get involved with the Legion Auxiliary. She also told the assembled some of the interesting things she has been a part of as president, such as riding on the American Legion float at this year’s Rose Bowl parade and getting to strike the 100th anniversary coin of the American Legion at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia.
