MORRIS – Coming off their sixth straight West Central Conference title, the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers have been rewarded with the no. 1 seed in the section 3AA-North playoffs in softball.

The Tigers are 16-1 on the season, having outscored their opponents 183-36 with two games remaining in the regular season. The Tigers are 6-0 against section opponents will get a first round bye when tourney play begins with the first two rounds on Tuesday, May 21st.

At Eagles Park in Morris, No. 4 Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (11-6) will face no. 5 Minnewaska (9-8) with the winner facing the Tigers.

From Minneota, No. 2 Minneota/Canby (16-2) will face no. 7 Montevideo (4-10), with no. 3 New London-Spicer (7-11) facing no. 6 Benson (4-10). The winner will then meet in round two.

Pipestone (17-1) is the top seed in the south sub-section, with Luverne (14-3), St. James Area (11-5), and Martin County West (9-5) going 2-4.

Cross bracketing begins when remaining teams head to Marshall on Saturday, May 25.
