A resolution adopted by the Morris City Council this week will change the ordinance about the sanitary sewer system to ban the briny discharge from water softeners from going into the sewer system. This has been more of a problem for older models of water softeners, City Manager Blaine Hill explained to KMRS listeners on the Community Connection program, as newer softeners can be adjusted.
The new water treatment facility is currently being tested. It is expected to go online around June 1st. The City of Morris’ Facebook page will provide details when they happen. When the new plant is up and running, within two months of that happening, the final step will be to tear down the old plant.
