Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 5, Benson 3
BENSON – Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta held off a late push by Benson to hang on for a 5-3 win in Benson on Monday.
The Tigers led 5-0 going into the bottom of the sixth before the Braves put three on the board, but that’s as close as they got.
Zach Bruns earned the win with a complete game, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits. Cade Fehr led the Tigers at the plate going 2-3 with two RBI’s.
Will Enderson had two hits with an RBI for the Braves, Matt Ebnet added two hits, and Matt Lenarz had an RBI double. Jared Knutson took the loss.

BOLD 7, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 2
BENSON – A four-run first inning spurred BOLD to a 7-2 defeat of the Tigers from Benson.
Josh Rohloff took the loss, Cade Fehr pitched five innings of relief. Michael Halvorson and Zach Bruns each had RBI hits for the Tigers.

Hancock 5, Ortonville 2
HANCOCK – Tanner Pahl struck out 10 in a complete game effort to help Hancock defeat Ortonville 5-2 on Monday.
The Trojans James Lee broke a scoreless tie in the fourth with mammoth solo home run to center field, but the lead was short lived as the Owls responded with a five-run bottom half, and Pahl took care of the rest.
Gideon Joos led off the fourth with a double, the Owls would collect five more hits in the inning, highlighted by Peyton Rohloff’s two-run single.┬áPahl gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits for the win.
Tyson Powell had two hits for the Trojans, and tossed three hitless innings of relief, Nate Treinen took the loss.

Border West 8, Canby 2
CANBY – Isaac Deal went 2-2 with two RBI’s and a run while Sam Adelman and Matt Thielen combined on a four-hitter in Border West’s 8-2 victory over Canby.
Adelman allowed a run on two hits and struck out 11 over five innings for the win, Thielen gave up a run on two hits and notched the save by recording the final six outs.
Hunter Johnson and James Conroy each had two hits with an RBI and combined for three runs, Adelman and Nate Moberg each added RBI’s for the Bucs.

Long Prairie/Grey Eagle 8, Brandon-Evansville 1
EVANSVILLE – Brandon-Evansville committed five errors in the field and never got the bats going at the plate in an 8-1 loss to Long Prairie/Grey Eagle.
Marshall Riedel did most of the hitting for the Chargers, going 3-4 with a double, Zack Haugen took the loss.

GOLF

Quad County Conference Championship
ELBOW LAKE – West Central Area took runner-up at the Quad County Golf Championships from Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course in Elbow Lake on Monday.
The Knights posted a score of 400, 15 shots back of conference champs Otter Tail Central.
Jessica St. Martin’s 88 was the low score for the Knights, three shots back of Addysen Tisdahl of the Bulldogs who took medalist honors. St. Martin and teammate Lexi Poyzer each earned all-conference honors.
The Bulldogs earned second conference title when the boys took first with a 320, Border West was fourth and West Central Area finished fifth.
The Bucs Nelson Schmidt and the Knights Tate Christenson each fired 85s for low scores on their respective teams, earning all-conference honors. The Bulldogs Jack Nyhus too first with a 76.
