Lorraine Felt, age 83 of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Born on May 18, 1936, in Starbuck, MN.
Visitation for Lorraine E. Felt will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Rd, Eagan, MN.
Funeral service for Lorraine Felt will be at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Rd, Eagan, MN, on Saturday June 1st. Interment Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
Lorraine received her degree in nursing from Hamline University. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Orville Felt, and began a fabulous life of adventure. Their first child, Barbara, was born in Detroit, MI in 1958. In 1960, they moved to Valencia, Venezuela and in 1966 to Mexico City, Mexico. While in Venezuela, they celebrated the birth of three additional children, Beverly, Denise, and Richard. In 1971 they returned to Minnesota, settled in Burnsville and welcomed their fifth child, Rachel. Lorraine returned to nursing and loved her career in labor and delivery and neonatal intensive care at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul.
Lorraine enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and brought joy and love to so many. She was known for her kind and loving heart. She has been an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church since 1971 and since her retirement has been an active volunteer including at Marie Sandvik Center, Open Door Food Shelf, and Global Health Ministries. Preceded in death by her parents Everell and Emma Barsness and brothers Dale and Everell Jr.
She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty two years and fourteen days, Orville Felt and her loving children: Barbara Felt, Beverly (Brad) Sweda , Denise (Dave) Beyer, Richard (Elizabeth) Felt, Rachel (Drew) Gorton; and grandchildren: Emily Felt (Alex Vaught), Samuel Felt (Michelle Boursier), Katie Sweda Everding (Tom), Marc Beyer (Kayla Bancroft), Nora Felt, Matt Sweda (Bekah), Nicole Sweda, Zander Gorton, and Erik Gorton; and sisters Deanna (Mel) Roller and Rebecca (Dan) Janisch; 3 beloved aunts and numerous, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Marie Sandvik Center, Open Door Food Shelf, Global Health Ministries, or The American Cancer Society. Thanks to Grace Hospice for their tender loving care in her last weeks.
