For second consecutive year, Border West’s Sam Adelman has been named the Pheasant Conference Most Valuable Player in baseball.
Adelman’s teammate Matt Thielen earned Pitcher of the Year honors, and Bucs co-head coaches Mike Adelman and James Paul shared Coach of the Year.
A sweep of all the major awards comes off another conference championship season for the Bucs who went 12-0 in the Pheasant, and 17-4 overall.
Adelman was a two-way threat for the Bucs, going 9-2 with one save and 0.90 ERA on the hill. Over 70 innings Adelman allowed just nine earned runs on 40 hits, with 100 strikeouts compared to just 11 walks. At the plate he hit .358 with seven RBI’s, 11 runs and an OPS of .926.
Thielen went 5-0 with an ERA of 0.66. Over 42.2 innings Thielen allowed just four earned runs on 21 hits, striking out 71 and walking 11 with opponents hitting just .137 off him.
Joining Adelman and Thielen with All-Conference honors from the Bucs were Nate Moberg and Jakob Adelman, while Spencer Ellison and James Conroy were Honorable Mention.
Brandon-Evansville had three named All-Conference with Gaven Jacobson, Jesse Perleberg, and Marshall Riedel. Tanner Bitzan and Zack Haugen were Honorable Mention.
All-Conference for West Central Area included Grant Beuckens, Isaiah Sykora, Tanner Bennett and Teigen Moritz.
Six Hancock Owls received accolades with Gideon Joos, Preston Rohloff, and Tanner Pahl earning All-Conference. Kody Berget, Montana Molden, and Colten Crowell were Honorable Mention.
Ashby’s Scott Johnson, Jaden Norby, and Christian Norby were All-Conference, Dakota Ecker earned Honorable Mention.
For Ortonville Tyson Powell was All-Conference, while Pete Treinen, Devan Boots, and James Lee were Honorable Mention.
