Snake and salamander expert Heather Waye, an associate professor of biology at the University of Minnesota Morris, will lead a session on Beneficial Garden Critters as part of the next Come Grow With Us event from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. tonight at the Horticulture Display Garden at the West Central Research and Outreach Center, 46352 State  Highway 329 in Morris.

While on the creepy side, horticulturist Steve Poppe told the KMRS Early Morning Show that it’s not a bad thing to have these critters in your garden, and they may provide some benefits. The free kid-friendly event will offer a chance to meet reptiles and amphibians common to our area and learn about their habits and habitats.
