Morris 4, Glenwood 3
GLENWOOD – Morris scored twice in the top of the seventh to steal a victory from Glenwood 4-3 in legion baseball from Marthaler Field on Monday.
Zach Bruns and Jack Riley each scored on an error, one pitch after each advanced on a passed ball to give the 29ers their first lead of the night.
Glenwood led 2-0 before a pair of RBI hits from Kevin Asfeld and Jaret Johnson tied the game in the fifth. Cade Fish gave Glenwood the lead back on a sixth inning RBI single before the 29ers answered in the seventh.
Austin Berlinger went the distance on the hill to earn the win for Morris, allowing three runs on eight hits and striking out seven. Joe Kleinwolterink had a pair of hits at the plate and the 29ers improved to 4-7 on the season.
Luke Barkheim took the loss, allowing two earned runs on six hits over seven innings.
WCA/ABE 11, Hancock 7
HANCOCK – Tanner Bitzan knocked in three runs on three hits to lead West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville to an 11-7 victory over Hancock.
Teagan Moritz and Isaiah Sykora each drove in two runs while Christian Norby, Tanner Bennett, Grant Beuckens, and Tony Schaffrin each added an RBI.
Beuckens got the win, giving up two runs on two hits over four innings, Bitzan tossed 1.1 innings of hitless relief.
Colten Crowell suffered the loss for Hancock, Preston Rohloff had two hits with a double and two runs, Adam Shaw added two hits.
Big Stone 9, Border West 0
BIG STONE CITY – Big Stone earned a 9-0 rout of Border West on Monday.
The Bandits were held to just three hits while starter Jakob Adelman was chased from the game after two innings of four-run ball. Hunter Johnson allowed another four runs in relief.
Adelman, Nelson Schmidt, and Casey Dahl each had a hit for the Bandits.
