Eric Zeltwanger of the West Central Cattleman’s Association told KMRS that he was pleased with the attendance at this week’s Minnesota State Cattleman’s Association Summer Tour, which was based this year at the Lee Community Center in Morris. On-and-off rainfall may have hindered some attendance, he said, but the West Central chapter only gets to host the State Summer Tour once in 10 years so they were pleased it came here. The Morris rancher said winter and spring weather conditions were a big concern for cattlemen this year. He said the group worked with the government to move up fall grazing to September 1 instead of in November.

Zeltwanger said that tour highlights for the ranchers he talked with included Blackwelder Dairy’s robotic milking units and feed pusher, and Wally Kill’s antique oil memorabilia.
