Hundreds of people showed up Saturday night at the Morris American Legion for the Josh’s Journey fundraiser. Morris native Josh Giese became paralyzed from the neck down following a visit to a Twin Cities chiropractor earlier this year and a spinal adjustment that went terribly wrong. The fundraiser was set up to help with medical, housing and transportation expenses for Josh’s new situation. Giese told KMRS that he was thankful that his family in Morris was able to help look after his two children while he was recovering, and praised the community.
“It’s been really nice to see how much the community around here supports me — and supports each other,” said Giese. “I’m very excited to become a part of this community again.”
Giese, a military vet who served a tour in Iraq, said he was considering litigation against the chiropractor. Donations may be sent to Josh’s Journey, PO Box 385, Morris, MN 56267.
