Starbuck 3, Morris 2
MORRIS – Sam Hested hit walk-off single that scored Aaron Ver Steeg and Starbuck escaped Morris with a 3-2 victory in eight innings on Friday.
The teams traded runs in the fifth, with both Morris runs being unearned off Darion Alexander.
Alexander tossed all eight innings for the win, striking out 15 and surrendering just four hits. He was also 3-3 with a run scored at the plate, Ver Steeg added two hits.
Zach Bruns allowed one earned run over eight innings for Morris, striking out nine and giving up six hits.

Albany 13, Morris 2
MORRIS – Albany jumped out to an early lead and blew the game open with a five-run fifth inning on their way to a 13-2 thrashing of Morris on Saturday.
Brandon Jergenson and Parker Bartels each had an RBI, Brett Hansen took the loss, giving up 12 earned runs over five innings.

Starbuck 7, Morris 6
MORRIS – Hours after Starbuck walked off Morris on Friday night, they again slipped past the 5039s on Saturday with a 7-6 victory.
Starbuck scored six early runs, but it was Derek Lohre’s RBI double in the fifth that proved the difference. Mitchell Gruber had two hits and an RBI, Hunter Johnson knocked in a pair, Alec Larson and Josh Mogard each added an RBI.
Sam Hested picked up the win, allowing one earned run over 4.1 innings, Lohre recorded the final eight outs.
Riley Reimers led Morris at the plate, going 2-4 with two RBI’s, Brandon Jergenson was 3-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, Zach Bruns and Tristan Raths each added an RBI.
Jergenson was one of four pitchers used by Morris and took the loss.

Morris 3, New London-Spicer 2
MORRIS – Sam Kleinwolterink and Parker Bartels each knocked in a run and Morris defeated NL-S 3-2 in junior legion baseball on Sunday. Bartels picked up the win on the hill, and it capped off a weekend where Morris went 1-2, following losses to Starbuck and Albany. Morris is 10-9 on the season.
