The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit will station itself at the Grant County Fair in Herman from July 18-21. The memorial provides interactive education, including artifacts such as steel beams from the towers, documentary videos, and recordings of first responder radio transmissions. Scott Libbesmeier is with the Grant County Fair Board and the Herman Fire Department and told the KMRS Early Morning Show that a three Ground Zero first responders will be on hand throughout the weekend with the exhibit. After tomorrow night’s Fair kickoff and community dinner, which starts at 4 p.m., there will be a ceremony at the 9/11 truck and one of the firemen will be speaking during a short program 7 p.m. Thursday night.
The exhibit will run 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
In addition, the Grant County Fire Departments will escort the truck on Wednesday to all towns in Grant County. They will leave Herman at 5 p.m., be in Wendell at 5:20, Ashby at 5:45, Elbow Lake at 6, Barrett at 6:10 and Hoffman at 6:20 p.m. They will finish in Herman at the intersection of Highways 9 and 27.
