Former Lieutenant Governor and President of the Minnesota Senate Michelle Fischbach entered the race for U.S. House Congressional District 7 this week. The Republican from Paynesville said on the KMRS Early Morning Show that she shares the values of District 7 voters.
“I think it’s time to bring a new energy to Congress from the 7th District and I’m excited about getting out there and talking to the folks in the 7th,” said Fischbach. “And I think that people in western Minnesota really deserve a member of Congress who shares their values and will fight for those values in Congress and not just support the liberal Pelosi agenda, given that Collin Peterson votes 85 percent of the time against the President and with the Pelosi agenda.”
Dave Hughes had already announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for the seat, but Fischbach is considered to have high name recognition in the state. The seat has been held since 1990 by Democrat Collin Petersen, who is chair of the powerful House Agriculture Committee.
