The Morris City Council, acting in its role as the Economic Development Authority, considered a change to a Tax Increment Financing agreement at its meeting Tuesday night. John Timmerman, the developer of apartments along Iowa Avenue, Imperial Drive and 7th Streeet, was slated to build two 8-unit buildings for the next phases of the building project. But he now would like to build one larger 16-unit building. City Manager Blaine Hill explained to the EDA the that Timmerman felt he could achieve greater efficiency in the building process by making this one unit. The square footage of living space is not expected to change much.
The EDA approved the change. Building is expected to begin shortly.
