Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Morris will present Septemberfest 2019 on Sunday, beginning with 9 a.m. early bird tent shopping, raffle ticket sales, a silent auction and board raffles. At 10 a.m. there will be a special Mass time featuring the Renew Choir. A Fellowship dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with ham, roast beef and fixings for $9 adults, $5 UMM students and kids, free for those 3 and under. There will also be a chili cookoff, pizza and Don’s fresh doughnuts.

Church volunteer Holly Giese told the KMRS Community Connection program that football fans have no excuse to stay home. The game against the Packers will be shown on a big screen in the event’s “little beer garden.”

Also after the meal, there will be the St. Mary’s Carnival, petting zoo, a car show from 10:30 to 2:30, under the tent sales with Fair Trade coffee and chocolate sales. A $1 basket raffle will be held at 1:30. A Mexican Independence Day celebration with the church’s Latino community will follow from 6 to 9 p.m. The church is located at 207 East 3rd Street in Morris.
