ST. PAUL – Four Minnesota Morris student-athletes garnered Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

For the Cougars, Kennedy Geller was named the Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, Trey Heinsius garnered Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week plaudits, Payton Sierra was tabbed the Women’s Golf Player of the Week, and Sam Tate received Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors.

The freshman Geller recorded 25 kills and 21 total blocks over five matches last week.

Heinsius, a senior helped the Cougar men’s soccer team earn their first win of the the year with eight saves in a shutout performance against Buena Vista.

Senior Sam Tate scored two second half goals in the Cougar women’s soccer team’s 2-0 win over Buena Vista, she had four shots on net.

Payton Sierra led the women’s golf team to a dual meet victory over Martin Luther, taking first with a 91, good for a five stroke victory.
