Among the many activities going on this weekend for Homecoming at the University of Minnesota Morris is a reunion of Concert Choir members, leading up to the Homecoming concert later this afternoon. Director of Alumni Engagement – and onetime choir member – Jennifer Zych Herrmann told the KMRS Community Connection program that they are expecting about 70 people for the reunion. It’s been 40 years since the choral group’s founding by Ken Hodgson.
The rehearsal will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Recital Hall of the Humanities Fine Arts building. The 4 p.m. show — also in the Recital Hall — will feature the UMM Jazz Ensemble and the UMM Symphonic Winds, as well. Other Homecoming events going on today include the Cougar football game against MacMurray at noon in Big Cat Stadium, preceded by tailgating; a 3:30 p.m. Cougar Volleyball game versus Concordia; a Class of 1969 50th reunion and 1960s decade reunion reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Cougar Room; Residence Halls Tug-O-War Contest at 7 p.m. in Big Cat Stadium; and a 9 p.m. Homecoming Dance in Oyate Hall.
