With the new school year underway comes a new season of Morris Community Meals. The first one will serve up a variety of international flavors from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Faith Lutheran Church on the west side of Morris. Sarah Eckel with the University of Minnesota Morris’ Office of Community Engagement told the KMRS Community Connection that the highlight will be a stew from an Uzbekistan recipe.
“Don’t miss it. Music. Hearty stew. It’s going to be an event that nobody wants to miss,” said Eckel. “People will be talking about it, I’m sure.”
The music Eckel is talking about will be a special 6 p.m. performance during the meal of a community choir directed by the U’s Brad Miller, which will feature 70 singers drawn from the community, students, faculty and staff of the U of M Morris. The meal is free.
