This season’s Morris Community Meals will kick off tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight at Faith Lutheran Church on the west side of Morris. Sarah Eckel with the University of Minnesota Morris Office of Community Engagement said on the KMRS Community Connection program that at 6 p.m. tonight there will be the debut performance of a community choir pilot program directed by the U’s Brad Miller.
“The choir has about 70 members in it. That includes students, community members, faculty and staff,” said Eckel. “So, it’s a very diverse choir. It’s exciting ’cause it really got a lot of interest from a lot of different people.”
A variety of international foods will be served, including an Uzbekistan meat and vegetable stew. The meal is free for all and designed for community members to meet with each other.
