EAGAN – Vikings K Dan Bailey has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the New York Giants in Week 5.
Bailey was a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points against the Giants. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy scored 14 points last week, his highest total as a member of the Vikings. Bailey tied Ravens K Justin Tucker and Cardinals K Zane Gonzalez for the most among all specialists in Week 5. The ninth-year pro connected on field goals of 31, 48, 32 and 45 yards at New York and is now 7-for-8 (87.5%) on field goals in 2019.
The NFC Player of the Week award is the fourth of Bailey’s career, with the previous three coming as a member of the Cowboys.
The Vikings have had 17 different players claim 19 total NFC Player of the Week Honors since Head Coach Mike Zimmer’s hire in 2014.
