MEN’S SOCCER

ST. PAUL – The UMM men’s soccer team fell 2-0 at Northwestern Wednesday in St. Paul.

Taylor Modaff scored his first of two goals on the day in the 24th minute, he scored again in the 51st minute.

The Eagles outshot the Cougars 24-4, while UMM goalie Lucas Harmon made 10 saves in net. The Cougars are now 1-2 in UMAC play.


WOMEN’S SOCCER

ST. PAUL – The Cougar women’s team dropped a 3-1 decision against Northwestern.

The two teams went into halftime tied at zero, but less than four minutes into the second half Anna Welch found the back of the net for the Eagles.

UMM junior Sam Tate responded with her fourth goal of the season in the 62nd minute to tie things up.

But Welch came right back and gave the Eagles the lead back in the 64th minute. Linley Norman sealed the win with an 81st minute goal for UNW.

Bernadette Cienik had 11 saves in net for UMM, the Eagles outshot the Cougars 28-9. UMM falls to 0-3 in UMAC play.
