While frequented by students of the University of Minnesota Morris, Rodney Briggs Library Associates member Brad Gerdes told KMRS that the campus library is a resource that is under-utilized by the community. The Associates will hold their annual book sale to raise funds for the Briggs Library from noon to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Student Center’s Oyate Hall on the UMM campus.

“I think the whole library is a gem on the prairie that very few people have seen,” said Gerdes. “And this is a good chance to come out and enjoy yourself, and look through some books.”

Besides the 8,000 books available – with a wide selection of children’s and young adult books – therre will also be some CDs and magazines on hand. The sale generates over $2,000 a year for the library. Parking will be free in all parking lots all day for the sale days, and there will be free hot cocoa and hot cider.
