ST. PAUL, Minn. – Six members of the Minnesota Morris women’s cross country program received honors from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), which included Tony Krueger garnering UMAC Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year plaudits for the first time.
For the Cougars, McKenna Langerud, Kaitlyn Ladwig, Alexa Yeager, and Paige Stearns were named First Team All-Conference, while Montana Lawrence received the Sportsmanship Award on behalf of Minnesota Morris.
At the 2019 UMAC Championships, Langerud finished first (23:59.8), Ladwig took fourth (24:32.2), Yeager placed seventh (24:44.4), Stearns finished eighth (24:44.8), and Lawrence placed 38th (27:38.3).
Four members of the men’s cross country were tabbed with honors.
Ryan Anderson was tabbed First Team All-Conference, Joel Knopp and Raymond Abraham garnered Second Team All-Conference honors, and Edmund Cease received the Sportsmanship Award on behalf of the Cougars.
At the UMAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, Anderson placed fourth (27:26.9), Knopp took 14th (28:11.9), Abraham finished 16th (28:27.4) and Cease placed 27th (28:58.6).
