A Scandinavian Heritage Dinner and silent auction will be served from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, 200 East 5th Street in Morris. Local Scandinavians and First Lutheran members Diane Nelson and Sharon Ehlers talked about the menu on the KMRS Community Connection.

“It’s a wonderful dinner. It’s all homemade!” said Nelson. “And it’s a great opportunity to experience this type of food. It’s something you probably wouldn’t make at your house, but it’s a great opportunity and it’s made by the best cooks in Stevens County and probably the State of Minnesota.”

“‘Cause they know how to cook the lutefisk just right,” added Ehlers. “And ham!” Nelson stated.

Also on the menu will be potatoes, gravy, baked squash, cranberry sauce, lefse, rye bread, rommegrot, rice cream, almond cake with rhubarb compote, rosettes, brun hjertekake, spritz and krumkake. Winning silent auction baskets will be announced following the dinner.

Ticket choices are $18 for the lutefisk and ham dinner or $16 for just the ham dinner, both options are free for children 5 and under and $10 for youth under 12. Takeout orders will be available. Food delivery will also be available to Morris residents only and must be arranged prior to 4 p.m. Wednesday at 320-589-3242.
