At their regular meeting on Tuesday, the Stevens County Board of Commissioners approved a County/State Feedlot Delegation Agreement. The agreement will continue having the County’s Planning and Zoning Director Bill Kleindl do a series of nine feedlot inspections per year for the next two years. County Coordinator Rebecca Young explained what he does on the KMRS Community Connecton.
“It’s a way to see who’s compliant and who has deficiencies in their operations, and who’s operating according to their plan that’s been submitted with the County and the State,” said Young.
Kleindl will only inspect feedlots below a certain size. He does not inspect the very large operations. The process of inspecting and filing those inspections makes the County eligible for some State money to deal with feedlot issues.
