After many after-school hours of hard work, cast members of the Morris Area High School Theater Department will present their musical production of “Curtains” 7:30 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee show on Saturday, at the newly-renovated Morris Area High School auditorium. Cast members Sara Hoffman and Lakia Manska told KMRS that there are many dancers in the production, which afforded the opportunity to include more dancing into the show.
“There’s a lot. There’s some tap, and there’s some ballet and some traditional Broadway-style dancing, like jazz,” said Hoffman.
“We all got a chance to choreograph a lot of the routines, so that was pretty fun,” added Manska.
While not everyone may be familiar with the murder mystery comedy, the music for the show was composed by the songwriting team of Kander and Ebb, the team that gave us Cabaret and Chicago.
“There’s singing throughout, dancing throughout, laughs — and more!” said Hoffman.
“Romance!” Manska laughed.
Tickets are available at the door.
