The Morris Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a new event this holiday season: Santa at the Southside. The Chamber’s Kolby Gausman told the KMRS Community Connection that a number of activities will be taking place Saturday at the Old No. 1 Southside location, and Santa is scheduled to be there, as well.
“There will be fire truck rides, pictures with Santa, the Chamber of Commerce is having a hot chocolate bar,” said Gausman. “And new this year we are having local homemade vendors come to this event. So these are people who do not have a retail space or storefront, but make something out of their homes mostly. And those people will be there from 11 to 1 and you can stop by and visit with us and grab last-minute gifts, stocking stuffers, all sorts of neat things.”
In addition, Federated Telephone is sponsoring a 2 p.m. free holiday movie at the Morris Theater that day. Gausman said listeners can check the Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for a list of vendors who will be there, call the Chamber office, or go the Chamber’s website and subscribe to the Friday Facts electronic newsletter.
