Storm Holiday Classic

Morris/Benson Area 6, Fairmont 1
MORRIS – Morris/Benson Area avenged their only loss of season by defeating Fairmont 6-1 at the Storm Holiday Classic from the Lee Community Center.
The Storm dominated the action by putting 75 shots on goal and allowing the Cardinals only 13. Matt Tolifson scored twice while Ryan Tolifson, Jack Riley, and Zach Bruns each had a goal and an assist and MBA won for the ninth consecutive game.
Chase Engebretson stopped 12 shots in net for the Storm who areĀ 9-1 on the season will face MayPort in the championship at 3:00 on Saturday.
Carson Musser made 58 saves for the Cardinals before leaving with an injury, Tyson Geerdes came on in relief and stopped 11 shots as Fairmont falls to 2-7.

Storm Holiday Classic

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 8, Morris/Benson Area 0
MORRIS – Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato raced out to a 6-0 first period lead and went on to beat Morris/Benson Area 8-0 at the Storm Holiday Classic from Morris.
Alyssa Olson had two goals and two assists for the Dragons, Kourtney Mielke added two goals and an assist while Avery Stillwell stopped all 14 shots she saw. The Dragons are 9-3-1 and will face Fairmont for the title on Saturday at 11:00.
Leah Thompson made 39 saves for the Storm who fall to 0-10-1. The Storm face Prairie Center in the consolation game at 9:00 Saturday.

Fergus Falls Tournament

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 74, Chisago Lakes 62
FERGUS FALLS – Jackson Loge scored 29 points with 17 rebounds to lead Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta past Chisago Lakes 74-62 at the Fergus Falls Tournament.
Loge was 8-11 shooting and hit 13-16 from the foul line for the Tigers who are 2-4 and will face Fergus Falls for the tourney title at 2:00.
Thomas Tiernan hit 4-6 threes to finish with 17 points, Toby Gonnermann added 11. With the loss the Wildcats fall to 1-6.

Pelican Rapids Tournament

West Central Area 68, Warroad 54
PELICAN RAPIDS – West Central Area overcame a cold start to the game to rally past Warroad 68-54 at day one of the Pelican Rapids Tournament.
The Knights were just 4-20 shooting to open the game before outscoring the Warriors 42-25 in the second half and finished the game shooting 42 percent.
Grant Beuckens led the Knights with 22 points, Jack Van Kempen had 19 with nine rebounds, and Jacob Bright filled the stat sheet with six points, six boards, seven assists, and five steals. West Central Area is now 4-2 on the season.
Warroad was led by Virgil Laznicka with 15 points, Tyler Fox with 12 as they fall to 3-3.

Hancock 57, Upsala 38
UPSALA – Hancock will go into 2020 undefeated after a 57-38 victory over Upsala on Friday, moving the Owls to 9-0 on the season.
Carlee Hanson scored 24 points with five rebounds to pace the Owls, Morgan Kisgen had 10, while Lexi Staples dished seven assists with three steals.
