Stevens County Early Childhood Initiative and the Morris Kiwanis will sponsor a screening and group discussion of the documentary “No Small Matter” from11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Febrary 3rd at Old #1 Southside, 412 South Atlantic Avenue in Morris. Besides what she called “eye opening” facts in the film, ECI Coordinator Diane Strobel told the KMRS Community Connection the event will offer participants to share experiences and ideas with local leaders.

“It certainly is the opportunity here to give your input in where you think we as a county can do better,” said Strobel. “Maybe you have some innovative ideas that you want to pass on to those in power that can make some decisions and make some difference in our community. And just see what people are saying about how this impacts the community and the future of our nation, really, if we don’t do something about it.”

The film reveals how failure to act on the importance of the first five years of life has resulted in a crisis for American families. The event also features a free lunch.
