While Janet Schrunk Ericksen has been serving the past three years as an Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean at the University of Minnesota Morris, the U recently made it official and dropped the “interim” from her title. A Medieval scholar who has been teaching at the U for about two decades, Schrunk Ericksen told the KMRS Community Connection that the Morris campus is searching for a new Admissions Director and is looking for new enrollment ideas from Interim Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Melissa Bert.
“We are searching for someone who will help us with transfer student services, because so many students now are coming in with prior credit and they do Post Secondary Education Options in high school, or they do College in the Schools, or they start at a community college because it’s more affordable,” said Schrunk Ericksen. “And so one of the things we’re going to be looking at is how we can better serve those students when they come to Morris. Because we do want them to come to Morris.”
Schrunk Ericksen said the Morris campus was recently re-accredited by the Higher Learning Commission for another 10 years, which she described as “an enormous process” that involves site visits, a lengthy report and a written response.
