The Morris Fire Department will be seeking $2,050 in restitution for call-out fees related to the January 3rd bomb threat at the Morris Area Schools. The City recently submitted the amount to the Stevens County Attorney’s office. KMRS previously reported that the Morris Police Department is seeking $4,200 in restitution for the bomb threat response, while the Morris School District will seek $1,400 in restitution. That brings the total to $7,650 in restitution sought for the First Responders who came to school that day.
The University of Minnesota Morris Police Department told KMRS they will not be submitting any amount for restitution at this time, nor will the FBI or the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, all of whom responded to the bomb threat.
Two juveniles were charged in late January with making terroristic threats related to the incident.
