U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Grand Forks Sector arrested a man wanted for sexual assault of a minor. The arrest took place Friday morning, when agents assigned to the Pembina Station encountered an illegal alien during a targeted enforcement activity in Grand Forks. Agents arrested the man and transported him to the Pembina Station for immigration and criminal history screening.
During processing, Agents discovered the 41-year-old Guatemalan man had an active warrant for sexual assault of a minor from Larimer County, Colorado. Agents confirmed the subject’s identity and warrant after conferring with Larimer County officials.
The subject is currently pending extradition to Larimer County, Colorado from Grand Forks. The U.S. Border Patrol has also placed a detainer on the subject to take custody of him once his case is completed in Colorado.
