Even though they have been temporarily sent home, Republican State Representative Jeff Backer of Browns Valley told the KMRS Legislator’s Corner that lawmakers are still busy doing their work.
“We’re doing things by conference call. We’re just using common sense,” said Backer. “So we’re still continuing our business. It’s a little clunky, I will not disagree with that. It’s clunky. I’m still meeting with people over the phone. That’s one thing I want to encourage all the listeners. The best thing that you could do right now is continue your productive activities that you’re normally to do. That will be a positive aspect to our society.”
But doing those activities, he noted, while still following the CDC guidelines for hand washing, social distancing, and sanitizing surfaces.
