At a media briefing of emergency personnel at the Stevens County Courthouse on Monday, Dr. Jason Huikko of Stevens Community Medical Center said every person can play a part in containing COVID-19.
“We do know that the COVID-19 has a greater effect on the elderly and people with certain pre-existing conditions,” said Huikko. “However, it does effect people of all ages, so the efforts need to be practiced by everyone. I want to reassure you that the medical pandemic will pass, and the actions we take as a community at this time will help determine how severe and how long the pandemic will last.”
Everyone, said the doctor, should still do regular daily habits to maintain good health, such as getting physical activity, proper amounts of sleep, and eating healthy.
