While ridership is down 75 percent, Morris City Manager Blaine Hill told the KMRS Community Connection that Morris Transit is still running.
“That system is funded by the state and federal government, most of it is,” said Hill. “They’re actually encouraging public transit. In our area, there’s typically — now — there’s maybe one person on the bus at a time, two people on the bus at a time. We’re watching that very closely though, to make sure that our employees are safe.”
Hill said the City has been working with Emergency Management Director Dona Greiner for guidance during this era of emergency measures.
