The City of Morris has had a request to open its compost site so people could do their yard work and haul it out. City Manager Blaine Hill said in a statement to the media that this is not considered an essential task during the “stay at home” period. Hill said the City doesn’t want everyone in Morris to travel over to the city shop to drop their stuff off. It can wait.

The City has also taken requests to open parks and put up activities like the batting nets. Hill said the City is focusing on the essential and critical tasks as was allowed by the Governor. With fewer people driving around, it is a good time to patch roads, he said.
