The Morris Police Department received two reports of counterfeit $100 bills in town last week. These bills passed the marker test, but not the computer checks. These last two were caught at one of the local banks after deposits.
The police department stresses the importance of visually checking $50 and $100 bills for the correct security features. These would include the watermarks and security ribbon. If any business is handed one, do not give it back. Call the Morris Police Department as soon as possible. If the individual(s) leave try to gather as much information as possible about the person, vehicle, and which direction they leave. The police can be reached at 320-208-6500.
