Jobless rates improved in western Minnesota counties in February.
The unemployment rate in Stevens County dropped two-tenths of a point to 3.3 percent, according to figures from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Other county rates include:
Big Stone 6.0 -1.3
Grant 5.9 -0.6
Pope 3.7 -0.2
Swift 5.5 -0.7
Traverse 5.1 -0.5
The comparable statewide jobless rate is 3.6 percent and nationwide it was 3.8 percent. These figures don’t reflect what has happened since the coronavirus outbreak.
