With telehealth exploding as a viable option for health care facilities and school districts learning new ways to achieve distance learning, State Senator Torrey Westrom of Elbow Lake told the KMRS Legislator’s Corner that we can at least find something positive from the measures to stem the pandemic.
“The bright spot, or silver lining, it probably is showing us all new ways to maybe execute jobs that have not been done this way before,” said Westrom. “But kind of adopting some technology that some of us are slower to change with if we don’t have to and showing different ways that people could work remotely, which is a unique aspect.”
Westrom said it’s all relying on good internet connection and and stressed the importance of rural broadband. He said there are still some rural areas where there are broadband pockets that need to be addressed, which he said he plans to do this session.
