Giving her weekly update to the Stevens County Board of Commissioners at their regular meeting on Tuesday, now being done by conference call, Stevens County Emergency Manager Dona Greiner said she’s been focusing on getting the proper supplies to deal with COVID-19 into the county.

“The priorities for this week for me, I’ve been working on our Personal Protective Equipment, requesting that. We continue to request,” said Greiner. “And then the distribution, as it does become available, we’re assisting with that. Providing information on alternative masks and assisting with those donations. Assisting the hospitals and other facilities with their surge plans. How many patients can they hold in one facility is what we’re looking at right now, and care for those patients appropriately.”

Greiner praised residents of Stevens County for doing what she called a great job with social distancing. As of this morning, there have been no confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the county.
