In his update to the Stevens County Board of Commissioners during their conference call yesterday, County Engineer Todd Larson said his crew at the Highway Department has also been practicing social distancing.
“Beginning no March 30, the Highway Department staff has been practicing the distancing as much as possible,” said Larson. “We’ve isolated as much as possible the staff in the outshop. We have outshops in Donnelly, of course two in Chokio. And we moved another guy down to the Hancock outshop, so we have two down there. And they’re all working independently, distancing themselves by operating one person per vehicle per unit.”
Larson thanked the board for their support “during this difficult time.” The county had construction and maintenance needs prior to this outbreak, he told the commissioners, and those needs are still there.
