A Browns Valley man has been charged with violating the Governor’s Executive Stay-at-Home Order in Traverse County. Traverse County Sheriff Trevor Wright explained to KMRS that the statute applies to individuals as well as businesses.
“We charged an individual for violating the Executive Order,” said Wright. “It was based on an individual who was highly intoxicated. He trespassed and broke into a home and was passed out on their couch.”
36-year-old Erik Ortley will be processed through Traverse County District Court with the misdemeanor charge, which carries a penalty not to exceed $1,000 or 90 days in jail. Ortley was also charged with trespassing.
