Morris Coop has donated $2,500 to the Stevens County Food Shelf. Morris Coop General Manager Brian Kruize told KMRS that the coop has donated to the food shelf in the past, and he expects matching grants to come through from Land O’Lakes in the amount of $1,500 and Cobank for $2,500, making for a total donation to the food shelf of $6,500.

“The Food Shelf is always…well, their income and budget is run basically on donations,” said Kruize. “So they’re kind of always asking for, have asked for donations and asked if we’d ever consider doing it again. And which we kind of thought we should. And of course, with what’s going on with this COVID-19, no better time.”

Despite the recent slowdown in business, Kruize said he expects the amount of coop donations this year to be about the same as last year.
